Two Lessons in Red

Two lessons in red is a compilation of two typical types of samplers that young girls would have been taught in the school room to broaden their sewing and medning skills.

The darning sampler using daring techniques which would have been used to mend woven fabrics. Pattern blocks are each worked indivually and instructions are given for the techniques.

Stitch count: Marking sampler 101w x 95h , Darning sampler 188w x 164h 

• Design size worked on 32ct Linen or 16ct Aida: Marking Sampler 15.8cm x 15cm, Darning sampler 15cm x 13cm

Stitched: Marking Sampler - 1 over 2 strands of linen, Darning Sampler 1 over 1 thread.

When ordering fabric allow 7-10cm extra fabric on all sides for finishing
