Alex Scarf Kit
A 'Knitting for Olive' design
Alex Scarf is a simple ribbed scarf that can be knitted up in a wide range of different yarn combinations, depending on desired look. The scarf is worked back and forth, from wingtip to wingtip, in a 2x2 rib pattern that will keep its shape well, both lengthwise and widthwise. Full pattern information is below.

Gauge (after blocking) 61 sts and 40 rows= 10 cm in pattern with 2.5 mm needles
Other Requirements:
- 2.5 mm circular needle, or in size to obtain gauge
- tapestry needle
All colour options of Knitting for Olive yarn available instore may be used for this kit- please call or put your colour request in your order
Knitting for Olive Merino maybe be substituted for Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino
Individual Paper Pattern may only be purchased instore
You start from the first tip and work increases until you reach the full width of the scarf. From here, you continue even until shaping the other tip with decreases to mirror the first tip.
All three sizes follow the same shaping interval and are worked over the same number of stitches.
Sizes: Small (Medium, Large)
Finished measurements: Length: approx. 105 (126, 230) cm ; Width: approx. 7.5 (10, 15) cm at the deepest point
Yarn: Size Small: 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Merino (250 m/50g, 1 ball Size Medium: 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Merino, 1 ball + 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Compatible Cashmere, 2 balls; Size Large: Either 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino (125 m/50g, worsted weight yarn, 4 balls + 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (225m/25g), lace-weight yarn, 2 balls or 2 strands of Knitting for Olive Merino, 4 balls + 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair, 2 balls.
Needles: 2.5 mm, (3 mm /5 mm) circular needle, or in size to obtain gauge
Gauge (after blocking): 61 sts and 40 rows (46 sts and 35 rows, 31 sts and 22 rows) = 10 cm in pattern with 2.5 mm (3 mm , 5 mm) needles
