A simple snuggly stylish blanket for baby or knit a gorgeous chunky throw for yourself - 3 size options given

 1. Baby blanket worked using Ultralight 8ply worked on 3.75mm (US5) needles - approximate gauge 26sts & 34 rows for per 10cm (4”) Finished size approximately 60x85cm (23.5”x31.5”) Yarn required 650m/710y

2. Baby blanket worked using a regular 8ply on 4mm(US6) approximate gauge 22sts & 30 rows per 10cm (4”) Finished size approximately 65x80cm (25.5”x31.5”) Yarn required 600m/656y 

3. Chunky Throw worked using a chunky yarn or a combination of yarns held together to achieve the desired yarn thickness for using (US11)needles - approximate gauge 12sts & 15 rows for per 10cm (4”)
Finished size approximately 93x120cm (36”x47”) Yarn required 770m/840y

Alternative yarns
10-12ply yarn: Increase the needle size to 4.5mm US7 or 5mm US8 depending on thickness of the actual yarn & reduce/increase the amount of cast on stitches to desired width - knit to desired length using full pattern repeats
