A 'Knitting for Olive' design 

Dot Sweater - Kids is a fun and easy-to-knit Fair Isle dot-pattern and using 1 strand of Merino and 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout  Dot Sweater is the perfect project for playing with different colour combinations and for using up some of your smaller amounts of leftover yarn. Full pattern information is below.

Kit Contains:

  • Knitting for Olive Merino col. Cream
  • As stated above the idea of this sweater is to use leftover wools from your stash - required approx 50g of each colour yarn and total 25g SSM for each colour - 4 colours are required. (not included in Kit) We are happy to help you choose the colour combination and add to this kit for additonal charge

Gauge (after blocking): 23 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm in Fair Isle pattern with 4mm needles and 2 strands held together

Other Requirements:

  • needles: 3.5mm and 4mm in 40 and 60 cm cable lengths, and 3.5mm and 4mm double-pointed needles or circular needle 80 cm for Magic Loop, or in size to obtain gauge

Pattern Infomation

Dot sweater is worked seamlessly top down in the round, beginning with the ribbed neckband. You then start following the charts for the Fair Isle pattern as well as working raglan increases to the underarms. Sleeve stitches are then placed on hold to be worked after the body has been completed. Ribbed edges finish the body and the sleeves. The neckband is folded and stitched down. The length of the body and sleeves can easily be adjusted. The Fair Isle pattern is charted only.

Finished measurements: Chest circumference: approx. 63 (68, 73, 78, 84, 89) cm; Length from shoulder to edge: approx. 31 (36, 38, 43, 45, 52) cm; Sleeve length from underarm to cuff: approx. 22 (24, 28, 29, 33, 36) cm
