Learn to Embroider - Drawn Thread

$155.00

'Lavender Sachet' by Julie Clemett

This workshop will teach you the basic techniques of Drawn Thread embroidery, as well as how to do a mitred hem. Drawn thread embroidery is an openwork technique where threads are pulled and removed from an even-weave fabric, creating a lacy, open effect, which is then secured and decorated with various stitches like hemstitching or re-weaving.

For this design you will be stitching a neutral pallet of Pearl 8 & 12 Ecru threads on 28ct Natural Linen. Please be in touch of you would like another colour choice

The workshop will teach you all the stitches required and is held over two Saturdays which will allow you time to master the stitches being taught between workshops. As described below there is homework between workshops

This workshop would suit an embroider who is wanting to learn a new stitching technique

Tutor: Julie Clemett (JCEmbroidery) who has a wide range of embroidery interests but particularly enjoys using and combining traditional techniques into modern projects. Julie enjoys assisting students to master a new technique, building their confidence and to appreciate their developing talents

Workshop is limited to 10 spaces
