A 'Knitting for Olive' design 

Ella Wrap has a raglan construction and features allover garter stitch and i-cord ties. It is worked back and forth from the top down using 1 strand of either Merino or Cotton Merino + 2 strands of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout. Full pattern information is below.

Gauge (after blocking): 14 sts and 28 rows (=14 garter ridges) = 10 cm in garter stitch with 6mm needles

Other Requirements:

  • needles: 5.5mm and 6mm circular needles, and 2 double-pointed needles size 5.5 mm, or in size to obtain gauge
  • stitch markers
  • stitch holders or spare cable
  • tapestry needle

 

All colour options of Knitting for Olive yarn available instore may be used for this kit- please call or put your colour request in your order

Knitting for Olive Merino maybe be substituted for Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino

You start working the yoke back and forth to the underarms where work is divided and sleeves and body finished separately. Sleeves are worked from the top down, either back and forth or in the round, before the wrap is finished with i-cord ties and an i-cord edge along fronts and neckline.

 

Sizes: 2 (4, 6, 8, 10, 12) years


Finished measurements: Length from shoulder to edge: approx. 32 (35, 38, 41, 43, 45) cm; Chest circumference: approx. 61 (69, 76, 83, 89, 96) cm; Sleeve length from underarm to edge: approx. 23 (26, 30, 34, 40, 43) cm

 

Yarn: 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Merino or Cotton Merino (250m/50g), fingering-weight yarn, 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 4) balls + 2 strands of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (225m/25g), lace-weight yarn, 3 (4, 5, 6, 6, 7) balls.

 

Needles: 5.5mm and 6mm circular needles, and 2 double-pointed needles size 5.5 mm, or in size to obtain gauge
