Embroidery Workshop - Bookmark

Creating a bookmark work with Amanda Cropp (Smart Tart)

Date: Saturday 21st November 9.00am - 12 noon at Broomfields

Come along for a morning of learning to embroider a bookmark for yourself or for a gift. You will be provided a kit containing a leaflet with 2 figure patterns for you to trace, 2 laser cut felt strips, 2 laser cut calico strips, DMC threads needed and needle. Make one bookmark on the day and have one for when you are home. After discussing colours you will choose your colours for your bookmark and then be guided on the stitches used and how to create your bookmark.

This workshop is suitable for a beginner or someone wanting to learn a new technique.

Tutor:  Amanda Cropp is a self-confessed needle and thread addict. Having learnt basic stitches from her mother who was a skilled embroierer, Amanda got back into embroidery during the Covid lockdowns teaching herslf from craft books and Pintrest. A jewellery designer friend commissioned Amanda to make jewellry pouches and then after retiring from her journalism career Amanda began creating brooches under her Smart Tart label. Her first bookmarks were made as Christmas gifts.

The workshop is limited to 6 spaces
