A 'Knitting for Olive' design 

Flower Dress is a simple and loose dress in stockinette stitch with flowers around the skirt. Front and Back is worked sideways and the back has a small keyhole opening that is closed with a button. Flower dress is worked with 1 strand of either Merino or Cotton Merino. Full pattern information is below.

 

Kit Contains: 

  • Pattern
  • Knitting for Olive Merino col. Oatmeal, Dust Olive, Dusty Rose
  • With the flower stems and flowers only 10g of each is required - if you wish to supply this please be in touch and we can make a kit without the Dusty Olive and Dusty Rose yarn

Gauge (after blocking): 28 sts and 38 rows = 10cm in st st with 3mm needles

Other Requirements:

  • needles: 3mm circular needles, and 2.5mm and 3mm double-pointed needles, or in size to obtain gauge
  • stitch markers
  • stitch holders
  • crochet hook size 2.5mm - 3.5mm
  • 1 button (diameter: 12 mm)
  • tapestry needle

 

All colour options of Knitting for Olive yarn available instore may be used for this kit- please call or put your colour request in your order

Knitting for Olive Merino maybe be substituted for Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino

Pattern Information

Front and back are worked sideways, back and forth, and in one continuous piece. Armholes and neckline are shaped as you go, while German short rows create wedges that further shape the skirt by adding more width. The flower stems are worked at the same time as the front and back, while the crochet flower heads are worked and attached after the dress is completed. Sleeves are worked in the round from the top down. Sleeve cuffs and neckband are both finished in garter stitch.
Please note that although the dress may appear to be a bit on the short side while you knit, it will lengthen and stretch when you wash it

Finished measurements: Length from shoulder to edge: 36 (39, 42) // 48 (52, 56) cm
