1, [1, 2, 2] balls of main shade for both garments plus a ball each of 2 other shades for contrast colours

Needles: 3.75mm & 4mm knitting needles. 4mm and 3.75mm 80cm circular needle or double pointed needles (dpn's)

Tension: 22 sts and 28 rows to 10cms (4 inches) over stocking stitch on 4mm needles or the size required to give the correct tension
